About

Our Story

The Madisonville Braves Youth Organization was founded in 1984 by Lornie Starkey and the late Bruce Fields. They started this organization with the intent of having a place for their kids to learn and develop the game of baseball while also becoming mentors to the young men. Under the leadership of Lornie and Bruce the organization started playing youth sports through the Knothole League. For years the Braves played under the District 5 West Knothole league and had grown to also have softball teams.

The Braves are now partnered under the Central Knothole League and the Reds Community Fund and Joe Morgan Association. Since the forming of the Braves the organization has grown to have 7 youth baseball teams and 2 youth softball teams in 2021.

Thanks to the funding of our sponsors Armstrong Chapel, Arthur Wilson, Trinity Baptist Church, and the Reds Community Fund we are continuing to grow.

We have players ranging from the age of 4- 14 for baseball and 8-14 for softball.
